Born in Odessa in 1866, Michel Korochansky died in 1925 in Montigny-sur-Loing. He arrived in Paris in the 1880s, it was at the Académie Julian that he studied with the painters William Bougereu and Tony Robert-Fleury. He is fond of landscapes, the region of Fontainebleau, seaside and portraits. Medalist on several occasions at the fairs of the society of independent artists. He also devotes himself to the illustration of Russian tales (Tolstoy, Dostoïevski, Pouchkine, Gogol, Tourguénev …).
