Born in Méréville in 1925 and died in 2006, Philippe Cara Costea is a painter, sculptor.
He studied at the School of Fine Arts in Paris and then at the Academy of the Grande Chaumière in the studio of Othon Friesz.
He made many other trips to Tahiti in the footsteps of Gauguin.
It is found at the Chicago Museum and the Museum of Modern Art in Paris.
